Corflute is a brand of corrugated plastic. ‘Corflute’ registered to Correx, has become so popular the corflute brand has now become synonymous when referring to corrugated plastic.
Corflutes are often described as a twin wall plastic sign. It is often sold in 3mm and 5mm thicknesses varying in sizes. Corflutes are commonly used in the signage industry as short/medium term solution. The lightweight plastic sign is very lightweight & inexpensive used for outdoor and indoor settings.

Corflutes can be installed in many different ways. The installation is largely determined by the environment/setting. In 90% of cases we recommend purchasing corflutes with eyelets to save time when installing and to make the process simple.
Let's go through the 3 most common ways to install a corflute.
Cable Ties
By far the most popular way to install corflutes is with cable ties. Cable ties can be purchased from your local Bunnings Warehouse, they will set you back roughly $7.00 - $8.00 for a 100 pack.
Cable Ties can be extremely handy when looking for a quick and easy installation on fences.
Keep in mind, cable times can only be used if you corflutes are purchased with eyelets.
Double Sided Tape / Nails / Screws
Double sided tape is commonly used for places where you cannot used cable ties or rope to install your sign. An example of this would be a wall. In situations where you have nothing to tie your corflute to, double sided tape or nails / screws can be used depending on which method is more suitable.
If using this method of installation, eyelets may not be necessary.
Rope
In situations where none of the installing processes above are suitable, rope may be helpful. Although rope is rarely used, it has been helpful for situations where cable ties may not be long enough.
Using this method of installing will require eyelets.
Corflute sizing is usually dependent on requirements that need to be met, readability/visibility from the intended audience, and the design of the printed corflute.
From our experience we have found these sizes to be the most popular for corflutes.
600mm x 900mm x 5mm
450mm x 600mm x 5mm
1200mm x 900mm x 5mm
300mm x 450mm x 5mm
Eyelets is a small hole with a metal, brass, or plastic ring. It is used in corflutes to provide a inexpensive durable hole in the corflute to allow you to attach the sign with cable ties, ropes and other similar fittings. Our eyelets are made from thermo plastic polymer, it is a clear material that can be recycled along with the corflute and is most commonly placed in all 4 corners of a corflute.
Corflutes life expectancy will depend on the environment and conditions. However, on average we can expect to see custom printed corlutes last 1-2 years outdoors and several years indoors.
Corflutes weight is dependent on the length, width and thickness of the corflute.
5mm thick corflutes weigh 850 GSM(grams per square metre).
3mm thick corflutes weigh 550 GSM (grams per square metre).
To calculate the weight of each corflute, multiply the length by the width, then multiply the total by 550.
Example:
Corflute size | Length = 600mm, Width = 900mm, Thickness = 3mm
Corflute weight | 0.6 x 0.9 x 550 = 297 grams each corflute
We print corflutes using the latest technology. Flatbed printing!
Flatbed printing has been around for a few years now, and has been a real game changer in the printing industry. The quality and speed is truly remarkable.
Our corflutes are first cut to size using a guillotine or CNC router.
A jig is then printed onto the flatbed printer to outline where the corflutes must be placed, after all corflutes are carefully lined up to the printed jig.
The vacuum will suck the corflutes down and the flatbed printer will begin to print directly onto the corflutes. In some cases, this type of printing allows us to print 50 corflutes at once whilst other large format printers can only print one at a time.
The material and labour saved using this printing method is then reflected in our ultra cheap price calculator.
After printing is complete, it is then packed into a box and moved to dispatch, where a courier will collect & deliver to your location.

The biggest corflute we can print is 1200mm x 2400m. If you need a bigger size, we can tile up multiple corflutes together.

Sizes do vary from business to business. It really all depends on the purpose and the application you need it for. But from our experience, we find 600mm x 900mm is the most popular size.
Unfortunately, we do not do custom sizes. However we are looking to do this in the future.
We currently do not allow customers to specify the direction of the flute to keep costs down and keep an efficient workflow.
